HOW WE WORK

 

 

 

REGULAR SERVICE:

Regular Service is designed to provide travel for work or education on a regular basis. This service does not require a call to the dispatchers for each trip, and may be invoiced by CTCL on a monthly basis.  This service is available from Monday to Friday only between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm.

IRREGULAR SERVICE:

Irregular service operates somewhat like a taxi service, except that clients must call CTCL dispatch 24 - 48 hours in advance to book a trip. Please note that if you are unable to book a return trip at the time of booking you may have to wait for a return trip based on the days schedule.  We cannot guarantee a return trip at the time that you need if it is not prebooked.

All requests for transportation MUST come through the office and not directly to the drivers.  This will ensure that you get picked up in a timely manner and that dispatch knows where our drivers are.  Contact our drivers directly is distracting and may result in them being late for their next appointment.

SERVICE HOURS: - DIAL-A-RIDE

Transportation for our Dial A Ride service is provided between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday only.  There is no weekend service for Dial-a-RIde.

Our office is open between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Monday to Friday.

CHARTER SERVICE

Charters are available on days, evenings and weekends.

REQUESTING SERVICE:

Call 902-896-7433 at least 24 - 48 hours in advance, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday to ensure that we can provide the service you need. 

 

CANCELLING SERVICE:

If you must cancel, please call 902-896-7433 as soon as possible. You can leave a message if we are not in the office.  Messages are checked starting at 6:30 am the next day.  Please note when booking you are taking a spot that someone else may have requested.  Please be sure that you will be travelling to avoid cancellations before you book.  We do however realize that things happen and cancellations are necessary.

 

SERVICE STANDARDS:

Should a delay in service occur, every effort will be made to contact the clients affected. The vehicle will not wait any longer than 10 minutes past the scheduled time reserved for pickup. The driver will assist wheelchair passengers on and off the vehicle, but pickup and delivery of passengers is to curbside only.  Drivers are not required to assist passengers with packages, so passengers should limit packages to what they can carry.  Drivers are not permitted to enter any clients home.

Clients needing assistance should make arrangements to have an assistant with them.  The person  attending to a client may travel free of charge. Please inform the dispatch at time of booking if you will have an assistant travelling with you. Attendants are required to get on and off the bus at the same location as the passengers they are attending. CTCL reserves the right to assess the clients need for an attendant.

Seat belts must be worn by all passengers.

CTCL retains the right to refuse service to noncompliant passengers.
